Really fun game,
Now, a lot of gamers wont pick up this game because they believe it to be too kiddy or childish. Granted, it is geared towards children somewhat, and isn’t overtly difficult or mature. However, this is a really entertaining game with a lot to do.
You play through key points in Star Wars episodes I through III, so you get to play some of the third installment before it’s even out in theatres (if you get the game before then, that is). The translation between the films to the game (LEGO style) is spot on, and you’ll remember and enjoy playing through all the key events.
There’s a lot of variety in this game. TONS, and I mean TONS, of extras, unlockables, characters, and different styles of play in different levels. There’s even podracing! Each level just feels right and is fun to play. As you gain and unlock characters you can go back to a level and get items you couldn’t reach before, because of the new character’s abilities. Not only that, but there’s a Free Play mode where you can just scour the level for currency and the like, or just to enjoy it again at your leisure.
Also, there’s an extremely awesome co-op mode. At any time another player can jump in and start playing right along with you, either as one of the characters in the current story (in Story mode) or just about anyone in Free Play mode. This really adds to the fun factor and never gets old. I love that they included this.
Visual presentation is stellar. Everything is authentic Star Wars, yet authentic LEGO. It’s really cool how well they did everything. On a technical standpoint, the game definitely isn’t bleeding-edge or anything, but it isn’t trying to be, and it looks really great anyway. There are some nice effects (lightsabers, explosions, floor reflections) too. Audio is PERFECT Star Wars.
All in all, this is a surprisingly fun game. With all the unlockables the replay value of this game is outstanding, and everything is a breeze to play. Not overtly kiddy, simplistic, or easy, people of all ages and tastes (even if you don’t like LEGO or Star Wars) will get enjoyment out of this game. Don’t be put out by its demeanor: you’ll have a great time with this.
I definitely recommend LEGO Star Wars as a buy for the PS2 or Xbox. The PC version has kind of clunky controls, and the co-op isn’t as good. I haven’t played the GBA version. The < $40 price tag is nice as well.
Go get LEGO Star Wars!

So adorable, so fun! It’s Lego + Star Wars,
This game was a jewel to find. It was a blast to play. If you want a great review of the game, head on over to Gamespy (http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-2/lego-star-wars/599847p1.html) and check out their review. And I agree with them 100%. The game was incrediably fun to play. It is a children’s game i mus say. The comedy used in cutscenes tended to be a little slapstick and there was a lack of mature humor. But i still laughed. The game utilizes its the lego half of the game very well, using the Force to manipulate lego blocks, build bridges and such. But one of the coolest parts of the game is that you can play the game with so many unlockable characters regardless of how the scene in the movie actually went. Want to have clone troopers fight in Thead or perhaps have Yoda fight Darth Maul in Episode 1? Go for it! You can unlock players with the games money system and go back to a free play mode where you can access any cleared stages and play with any unlocked characters (any!). Cool thing is that you can do more now with the unlocked characters and take advantage of their cool stuff (Like jango’s jet pack) I just loved seeing who was the best to fight against Darth Maul at the end if the Ep 1 part of the game. I must say that using Amidala was a pretty nifty challenge, but Darth Maul turned out to be his own worst enemy. The game covers the first 3 movies. Though the game is short, its got a lot of replay value. And there’s even a great multiplayer. It’s kinda like Sonic games where player 2 could come in anytime and play as Tails. If player 2 wants to leave he can and the AI picks up after a few seconds.
I wouldn’t rate this up in the Kotor quality of a Star Wars game, but then again it’s Lego! It’s quirky, fun and great for all ages. Just blasting a battle droid or an obstacle and watching it fall apart into Lego bricks was enough to hook me in. This game fall under one of those types that’s just fun to play. I rank it up there with Katamari and R-Type final for just vast and easy fun to pick up on the spur of the moment. It is really worth taking a look at.

Great for Kids and Parents,
When my son asked for Lego Star Wars for Christmas I thought to myself great another boring kids game I’ll have to play, because I’ve been playing video games for over 25 yrs I like challanges and usually E games don’t have that.
I was so wrong this is the BEST children game ever, not only can my 3 yr old play it on his own but Adults will not be Bored having to play along!! Yes it easy for adult but there are so many hidden object to find and you have to use the force to move cups around to get extra Lego pieces, turn on light etc.. You have to do more then just run through the chapters which makes it entertaining. In episode 2 you get to do a disco with the aliens (which my son thought was so funny)and the best feature of this game is being able to jump in and play at anytime.
Usually with other games while your playing 1 person mode you have to exit and start all over from the beginning to select 2 people mode. Not with this game a second person can jump in the middle of a game (you never have to stop playing for them to join in) and when you get to a hard part (for a 3 yr old) I just tell him Drop out for second and get him past the hard part then he jumps back in and he gets so excited when we make it to the end of a chapter together. And my sons loves Free play were he can pick any player from Anakin to a droid and I enjoy it too. This is 1st kid game I ever Liked playing.
